Welcome to GameSWE - Swedish Language Training Tailored for Game Developers
As a game developer living in Sweden, your work life might be thriving, but what about everything outside of work?
Learning Swedish isn’t just about the language — it’s about feeling at home, building connections, and thriving in your personal life.
With GameSWE, we offer more than a language course. This program is designed specifically for game developers giving you the tools to embrace Swedish life beyond the office.
Organized and taught by Like A Native, our courses focus on making your transition to life in Sweden smoother and more enjoyable.
Enhance well-being and team spirit
GameSWE doesn’t just help individuals — it creates a more connected, inclusive and positive workplace.
Employers who invest in this program report significant improvements in employee satisfaction and retention, according to their feedback to us at Like A Native.
t’s a language course, but it’s also about making your employees feel like they belong.
Our clients call GameSWE "a key part of our retention strategy," because it helps game developers feel more settled, supported, and engaged in their new environment.
A Unique Opportunity for Game Developers and Their Partners/Spouses
What sets GameSWE apart from other language courses is the inclusion of partners and spouses.
We are proud that this program provides a special opportunity for accompanying partners/spouses to integrate into Swedish life alongside game developers, fostering a sense of belonging and community for all.
By welcoming partners/spouses, GameSWE supports the well-being of entire families, making the transition to life in Sweden smoother and more enjoyable.
This approach helps everyone feel more connected to the local culture and community, creating a positive, supportive environment both at home and at work.
This unique benefit ensures that all participants, whether employees or their accompanying partners/spouses, get the right support to thrive in Sweden.
Tailored for game developers' unique needs
From day one, our courses focus on real-life communication, ensuring our studnets learn the Swedish that matters — for life outside of work as well as casual conversations with the Swedish work colleagues.
Whether you’re grabbing coffee at a local café, chatting with friends, or navigating Swedish culture, you’ll feel more at ease.
We offer courses at all levels (A1-C1), structured around participants’ proficiency and particular needs.
All classes are online, designed to fit around your busy schedule, no matter where you’re working from.
And the BEST PART: it’s not all virtual!
Each term ends with a highly anticipated in-person meetup 🎉, where all our students can connect with other game developers, practice their Swedish, learn about the Swedish culture, connect and have some fun.
The meetup is open to all course participants, and is more than just a learning opportunity. It offers an opportunity for social interaction, networking and practical learning about Swedish language and culture.

Our goal is to enable as many members of the community in Skåne to participate in the program, learn Swedish, meet peers, and build their social network.
The good news is - no. The cost of the course material is included in the price! We use our own material that is tailor-made for each group and the specific needs of our course participants. This allows us to make the course more relevant and up-to-date, making the classes more effective, fun, and motivating.
After teaching Swedish for 20+ years at all levels, we have realized that there is no perfect course book out there and that we always missed something. We've always had to add our own course material or adapt the existing one, no matter which course we were teaching. And we have taught many!
We also know and believe that one size doesn't fit all. Each course and group is different, and to make the teaching more effective and lessons more relevant and fun, we always adapt our materials. This ensures we achieve the learning outcomes in the most effective way and that no student ever feels left out.
Our course material is always tailor-made for each group and the specific needs of our course participants within GameSWE. This allows us to make the course more relevant and up-to-date, making the classes more effective, fun, and motivating.
Additionally, online classes demand interactive course material fully adapted to online teaching and learning. Our online course platform allows us to do exactly that.
